I have got to replace my shocks. I wanted to buy Rancho RS9000XL. The literature ask if the Ex is stock or has 4"lift. I currently have no lift but hope to next year. I don't want to buy shocks and have to replace them in 4 or 5 months. What are my options? I am currently not working so funds are tight but I need shocks badly. If I have to I guess I can buy the least expensive set I can find until...... Thanks for reading!!
The RS5000's are very stiff - I have them on my Bronco and will most likely be replacing them this year. That is certainly a good price for them though.
My opinion...regardless of if funds are tight or not...
Go with a cheap set for the next few months if you are going to be lifting the truck.
Looks like you've got a few options of shocks that are better than what you have right here in this thread from fellow members!...I'd take one of them up on it to fill the gap of the need for shocks until you get the truck lifted whereas you will need different shocks then.
Good luck and make sure you post pictures when you do the lift!
