Do the 06 F150s have a heater control valve?

O'reilly has the heater control valve in stock for the 06 F150 and printed out the picture of it for me. A SEARCH on this site tells me there is no heater control valve. I can't find it on the truck. Alldata says:NO heater control valve and doesn't mention it in the NO HEAT troubleshooting procedure. So which is it? Is O'rielly wrong? This truck makes no heat when requested. If it doesn't have a heater control valve that means that hot water is flowing through the heater core in the passenger compartment ALL the time. That can't be good in July. If that's the case the evaporator has to fight with the heater core to see if the truck stays hot or cold in the summer when the AC is requested "ON". Does the blend door do the job of the heater contol valve on these trucks?

I believe the door does the work. I put a manual shutoff in the line since I was having a/c trouble last summer. I didn't seem to help much though.

Their catalog is wrong it lists 74865 as the valve for these trucks. There is no valve on them.

A few of these trucks had heater valves on them (I think. Would be very very few, but I seem to recall seeing at least one.) Most likely, your truck doesn't have one anyways. Pull the instrument panel out, and you can see the motor behind, below and to the right of the radio. Watch the shaft coming out of the motor where it goes into the blend door in the heater box, alot of times you'll see it TRY to turn, but it might "wiggle" back and forth or move in short jumps. Never had to replace the door or heater box, but I've done a few motors. Also, you have to "relearn" the door's stopping points after you install a new motor. Pull fuses 13 & 5 out of the Central Junction Box and let it sit for a few minutes, then replace the fuses and turn the key on and again, let it sit for a little while. (Thats if you need a motor.)

Thanks Sandrat for the "relearn procedure". I didn't know about that. I'm going to check the motor operation and keep a close eye on the shaft. I'm going to also check the input to the motor. I have the pinout(from Alldata) for the motor connector so I can make sure the proper signals are reaching the motor. I don't think this vehicle has a valve as I can't find one on the engine side of the firewall since it would be vacuum operated if it had one.
