Actually got a couple questions for yall. First, anyone have any idea what a ford extended cab weighs? Second, would putting the cab crossways in the bed of my 00 F150 and towing an early 80s mercury cougar be overloading the truck?
I dont recall what the gvwr rating of it is, but im sure a quick google search will net the results I want. I believe the towing cap. is either 5k or 7k.
you should be fine imho... ive seen people hauling 5th wheels with there 150s all up and down the coast out here and been fine, shoot ive hauled small cars with my s-10 and been fine, so i dont think youll have a problem
does the 150 have the 4.2 v6? i think it was 4.2, the 4.6 or the 5.4?

yup ive been blessed with the 4.2 V6
Its from southern kentucky to michigan, if it was jus somewhere around here I wouldnt be concerned really
as for the truck... i think youll be fine imho... as for the engine lol just keep the RPMs up a little and i really dont think that you will have a problem
check the driver side door just as a quick reference for the gvwr just in case but if it was me id pry do it as long as the 150 is in good running order
I towed my 3600 boat with my 94 ranger all the time before I got my diesel. It was working the v6 but it did it. Had to use 4 low to get it out of the water and up the ramp though.

yea shes in fine shape, less than 100k on her so "should" handle the trip just fine. The most interesting part will be driving the whole shebang out of the holler lol. Some VERY steep uphill parts and i aint got no 4 lo. May jus need to drive the car to the top of the holler and load it there.
My F150 weighs in at 5040 lbs IIRC. My F250 tips the scales at about 7k
