Does anyone know where to find a single standered pistion ring for a 2001 v8 4.6 triton f150 ? All the local auto parts stores will not sell individual only a full set. And rockauto was like 25 bucks and 6 days to ship.... lmk if anyone knows where to find cheap ones online.
I've always had surprisingly good luck with J C Whitney. The last time I ordered engine parts, the generic boxes I got contained Hastings rings, and CL77 bearings. Half the price of local shops.
I not only bought quite a lot from Whitney to save friends/family some $$$, but also in some competition applications, and never had a problem.
A lot of times, it's the warehouse supplier not the parts store that isn't willing to sell part sets of rings. Every once in a while I need odd qty's, and at least for me, CarQuest usually comes through.
Used to see a fellow racer once in a while (record holder for a while) years ago, and his Boss motored Maverick had at least 4 different bore sizes, naturally calling for matching rings/pistons. To keep cost's down, only damaged parts were changed.
yea i tryed J C Whitney was a great site but they did not have my piston ring thanks for trying to help tho i called carquest and they are trying to call there manufacturer or partner to see if they can sell me an individual. anyone eles have any ideas? if i cant find something by tommorow i will probably have to buy the 25$ rock auto one.
