I just purchased a 79 Pathfinder E250 with a 460 and C6. Anyone know what axles and transfer case were used on them? I haven't even picked it up yet (not that I would know even if it ran over me), but just wondering if anyone has experience with these animals and knows the drivetrain parts.
A 3/4 ton 4x4 TRUCK in 79 would have a D44 up front, D60 rear and an NP205 T-Case, but my knowledge only goes as far as trucks, don't know if that info extends to Vans, but seems like it'd be the same.
and as to the t-case, do you have selectable hubs for 4x4 r no???? selectable=np205 solid caps=np203 full time 4x4 case, or just check the **** on the 4x4 lever. if it has hi and low its a 205. if it has 4hi, 4hi lock, neutral, and 4 low lock its a 203.
and btw, 4x4 vans are awesome. almost bought one before i bought my old f350. wish i would've.
I'm waiting to here from a couple of towing services I contacted through craigslist so I get the thing transported from MA to my house. Then I can take a closer look at this beast.
