Need new PCM

I have been having trouble with my dad's truck. We got him a DP tuner and it was intermittently cutting out so we cleaned the contacts better and that didn't work. Now we even tried re-tinning the contacts and sent the chip switcher and cable down to Jody and it all checked out. He even gave a new cable just to be sure. I hooked it all up today and it won't power up. So we want a new PCM. Any idea's where I can get a VDH4 PCM for a 2002 4x4 auto 7.3 from?

I have one posted in the classified section but it's a nvk4 and probably wouldn't work. I would try: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

What do you mean, won't power up? Does it run without the chip?

A lot of folks have been using Auto Computer Exchange - Auto Computer Superstore - Cheaper than dealers and mechanics.

Yeah, the chip won't power up. The truck will power up and run without the chip. I sent it off to have Jody check everything out and he said everything was good from DP.

I need you to look at the cable ends to make sure the cables are plugged in correctly. It sounds like they need to be flipped around. This will cause the switch not to power up.

Diane, how do you tell which end goes to the chip and which goes to the switch?

What is important to watch is making sure the knotches on the cables line up on the chip and switch. Make sure they are not upside down.

On further discussion with Jody about this the only one other thing it could be besides the cable knotches and the knotches on back of the switch
Being lined up correctly,there could be a power failure to the j3 port of your dads PCM. This would explain why the truck starts without the chip and why everything worked fine when Jody checked it out here.
