The vacuum is created by the power steering pump, I don't see how that would cause a mis.
Welcome to the Site, and don't be bashfull about asking question
I dont know what year the conversion took place from the belt powered vacuum pump to the power steering pump making vacuum, but I dont understand how that would affect the operation of the engine, i.e. making it shut down or starve for fuel.I dont know where you are from, but it sounds like fuel gelling problem or an O ring in the fuel filter is not quite right and allowing air into the system.
Is there any appearant fuel leaks around the valley of the engine?
Have you drained the fuel filter of water lately? Have you completed any mods to the computer and it isnt bolted in properly?
Just some things to look at ..........
Keep us posted.
