I have a 2009 F-150 5.4 SuperCrew 4x4. Four wheel disc brakes.
This morning on the way to work, felt like I had a flat tire. The light that shows the road is slippery came on and never went off. When I stopped to check, tires were fine but I could smell hot brakes.
After letting it sit for a couple hours, went back out and drove it a little to see how it was and I could still feel that atleast one of the brakes was being applied. Believe it is one of the back brakes, steering is not affected.
I did apply and release the parking brake a few times, no help, which ever brake it is, it won't release.
Any ideas?
You may be able to limp it back to the Ford dealer by removing the fuse under the hood for the ABS/TCS system. I think the number is 36, but check your owners manual first.
Just had the Left Rear ABS sensor replaced on my 2009 Super crew yesterday. Truck was fine on Wed but on Thursday the light was on for ABS and Traction control. Did not notice any dragging brakes but maybe a slight power loss. If both the ABS and Traction control lights are on you have a fault in the ABS system. This will also cause the Traction control to not work properly.
