lol I know the 91 should be two digit but folks do weird stuff to their trucks......perhaps the P.O. had the original fry and was told using a newer one would work fine at a junk yard and so installed it thus updating the computer to a newer model year. I like ya'll can only go by the info provided but, it does seem like a fair assumption that apparently sometime in this trucks life it had a brain transplant

That might be however in the time I've been here that has not proven to be the case, there was always an error in the way the codes where accessed/read/interrupted. And yes there has been several.
Personally to date I haven't seen/read where someone had put a 92> computer in a <91 model truck. Not while everything else remained the same.
This one the first? Hard to say yet.

You said you used a code scanner, what make/model reader are you using?
A Innova 3145 by chance?
If I remember right, I'd have to look again, the pinouts are the same so off hand I can't think of a reason a 92> computer wouldn't work....
