Off topic: Vacation/Road trip

I'm planning a two week vacation/ road trip to visit some friends in CA and MI to take place about late Oct/ early Nov 2011.

Any recommended stops? I plan on hitting a few parks (I love the photo opportunities).

Anyone want me to come see them (I might request food )?

I'll have about 14 days to get back home, so i can't do everything in one trip...

So, fire away!

Also, i need recommendations on a GPS...

Mods can move if needed...

I figure i should while i'm still young...

My dad has a Garmin and it worked ok when i used it. I kept getting confused and/or lagging.... is that a common problem?

Depends on what part of Cali you're planning on being in, it's a long state...

I don't have a set route yet Josh. Might try to plan the route around how many people want me to visit.

I'm going over to see Oreo and Joe, then it looks like to southern CA... Playing with some ideas on mapquest.....

Fully agreed. I'm doing the same, but a blown head gasket just slowed me down (time & money-wise). Next year it is then...

My garmin was such a useless piece of crap in all major cities in California!

Was pretty interesting driving down town San Diego or LA reading a map, driving and watching for the hitch to hit the ground on those rediculous hills!

Stupid garmin kept getting lost, recalculating, recalculating, turn here turn there, saying that after I was passed the said street
