I an new to the forum and wanted to say hello. One of my wife's coworkers was talking about an old 47 ford she had in a barn minus the engine, transmission and title of course. I said that I might be interested as long as I could get DMV to issue a new title. Over thanksgiving I was speaking of this truck I was going to take a peak at and my aunt chimed in that I could have the truck my uncle had planned on fixing up ( he passed away 4 years ago), A 1950 ford F1 (pretty rusty)with the original flat head V8 and a spare flat head V8 in the garage. Also in cluded were three extra fenders and an extra bed. I dug it out last weekend and as soon as I get some tires for it I will tow it home and decide what I want to do with it. Besides the two motors that come with the truck I still own an 83 mustang GT that I could steel the engine and trans from, so I have some options LOL. On top of all that I went and looked at the first truck which is actually a 48-50 F3 rusty but not as bad as the F1, I am considering picking that one up as well if I can find a place to put it.
Thats my story looking forward to all the knowledge I will gain here
Welcome and believe me you will get some great assistance if you decide to restore. This group other than myself have a vast amount of knowledge in these old trucks. Through their help it sure has made things easier for me in trying to restore a 51 F-1. Harley
Welcome! Looks like a Calif. black plate on it? You can add your location to your Profile in the User CP, that helps us when it comes to some questions. Someone may be close to you, too.
