I'm thinking HG, the trucks got a EGR cooler delete, EGR delete, new oil cooler. It builds enough pressure in the cooling sys. to make the cap bleed off. If you watch the degas bottle with the cap off and engine up to temp. You can see what looks like the coolant peculate. Looks like air bubbles coming out of the hose attached to the bottom of the degas bottle. Temps are ok when driving, no water oil mixing. Any thoughts thanks for the help.
in need of egr delete arp studs and head gaskets to be replaced, if head gaskets are not blown or damaged can the studs be replaced without removing the heads maybe one at a time or is this a bad idea i need a diesel tech to take on my truck or im thinking bout settin it on fire

Oh ya its an 05 f350 6.0L 170,000 mi
I had the same issue and the same symptoms on my '04. No mixing of any fluids, just way too much pressure in the degas bottle and coolant loss there, especially when pulling a heavy load, lots of boost.
Bubbling in the degas bottle.....head gaskets.....which really means head bolts. Get those ARP studs in there, sooner the better.
Just my experience, a lot of reading here on the forum, and a confimation by the Ford stealership.
Thanks for all the help guys. Where is the best place to get an engine gasket kit and arp studs.
There was a post here in the 6.0 forum where someone told the cheapest source. It was under $400. I paid $415 delivered.
Do a search for ARP studs and I think you will find the cheapest source. My total DIY parts was $1450. I have a post that spells out all my costs and sources. BTW I really did not need to spend the money on the Black Onyx gaskets, everyone says the factory ones are just as good. Check out Partsguyed.....and SEARCH and READ! Search is your friend.
Well I got it tore down and the heads are at the machine shop. Now i'm just waiting on all my parts to show up. Got my stuff from Rockauto.com and ebay. Hey anybody got a fuel injection wire harness.
The cab is still on. It is a pain in the a** ... I took some pics but something was wrong and they didn't turn out. I'll take some more during install. The machine shop said that every cylinder was leaking. Thanks for the ebay fined.
Getting my Heads from the Machine Shop in the morning. Got most of my parts in, enough to start putting it back together any way. I'm going to try to get some pictures posted soon. This is an after thought but has any body else have this problem. I had to pull the 4 back out side HD bolts with the head, there was no way they were coming out first. I pulled the A/C dog house side cover off to aid in some more room. This was on the pass side. Any thoughts on this. Thanks
