2003 Expy odd noise

My wives 2003 Expy has a odd hum/noise up from drivers side when I lock it in 4wd. It doesn't do it in 2wd where I would assume a wheel bearing.

The front driveshaft u-joints need replacing. The DS turns when in A4WD or 4WD but not when you're in 2H.
