Towing mirrors for a 2003

Having a tough time coming up with an extension/replacement for my outside mirrors so I can tow a camper. Anyone know where a good site is that has mirrors for a 2003? Been doing a little surfing with little to no results. Is the 2003 and up Expy mirror an odd ball???

It's a common question on the camping forums.

I use Tow N See. If you want the TTT brand, order the ones for the 00-02 F150 (same doors)

I'm betting it won't be long before **** (or a similar vendor) makes one. The one they make for the current model F-150 is darn close, but not quite.

I just ordered a Driver / Passenger pair of the Tow N See variety. Even though they will block your normal mirror (not that it matters with the RV behind you) I like the fact that I can adjust them with my power mirrors.

$50 for the pair wasn't bad.

Let you know how they turn out.

PS...I got the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller, and it's fantastic! Best one I ever had.

tow mirror

Not sure what the original poster means by "camper"---there are pop ups and then there are big rigs. I tow a 19 ft boat with 2000 Nav---I had slide on large mirrors---what a pain to use and scuffed up the truck mirror housing. Could never get them right. If I got them right then when I removed them I'd bump it and they'd be out of adjustment the next time--start all over.

I ended up with a simpler solution for my application---a company called Blind Spotz sells small oblong mirrors that I velcroed on the bottom of the truck mirror. They are great---leave them on all the time. As you know these trucks have terrible blind spots---I angle them down and out--- and if done correctly they totally eliminate the blind spot on the right side especially. Totally adequate for my application.. I know they don't look custom--but for less than $10 and a solution for all my needs -- I think it's worth a look---they are not rectangular or square--nor are they the stick on convex mirrors that you stick on the glass (tried them--you can't adjust them independent of the main mirror). They are wider than high---and are somewhat contoured. Found them at local auto parts store. Hope this helps in some way.

Try this web site---it's mirror #2

I recently bought a pair of slip on mirror extensions for my '97, and they also fit the '99 I have as well. They are great and slide and lock on easily and oh so easy to adjust. They are made by Ciba I believe and I bought them a local camper supply here in Raleigh. Email me and I will see if I can get more info on them if anyone needs it. If I recall, the pair cost me about $70 for both.

Yeah, if you have a pre-'03 Expy, the CIBA slip-ons work great, and look great too. Too bad for us '03 + guys though.

Come on CIBA! Ya got'em for the new 150's, how about us Expy folks?!

rgds,

Well, I wound up buying a pair of Tow-n-See mirrors. So far, they've worked just fine. As long as they don't fall off, I'll be a happy camper!

I've only had one fall off once. I didn't clean the mirror beforehand. Otherwise, they're pretty fail-proof.

Some goof ball did walk into one and cracked the black plastic on the mirror but it didn't come off the mirror. Nice to break my mirror and not leave a note or wait for me to show up.

I would like to get the TTT mirrors for my 2002 supercrew. My research says the supercrew and expedition are the same mirror, at least for 2002. Are you saying the 2003 Expedition uses the 2002 regular cab door, because there is no TTT fit for my generation supercrew or expedition.

**** makes a slipon mirror for the 2004-2006 F150 that should fit the 2003 Expy.

As far as I have read over the years, the 03 redesign kept the old doors. Wiring might be an issue?

That might be true. But the problem is the Exepedition and Supercrew share the same door, this is not the same door as the regular cab and extended cab F150. From what I can tell, for some reason the Supercrew and Expedition are the odd man out if you want a permantent extendable towing mirror. It dosen't make sense to me becuase **** or Schefenacker could make one mirror and they would gain two entire models.
