Amsoil

My friend is offering to sponsor me oil for my truck if I put a Amsoil sticker on it just when I race so I think I'm going to do it.anyways they have a engine flush that is made from the detergents that is in the oil, it is just a lot more concentrated. My question is it alright to flush our engine?

I wouldn't flush it. Just run the oil and be happy it's free. Is he including free oil samples too? Be sure to test your current oil before the switch.

I'd run it too but yea, it is expensive. I wish Schaeefers would let me advertise for them in a form of a sticker for free oil, go for it.

He said I would have to pay for the OA which is 30.00 but includes how much more miles you can go before next oil change. Joe, sorry I don't think so.

Speaking of a Amsoil advertisement, on my way home from work last friday morning I seen a Dodge 1500 Ram pickup with a total Amsoil body ad wrap on his truck. It advertised "Change your oil every 25,000 miles".

Yeah but you still have to add a little as you burn off some.

Yep, that's what he told me. But I could also extend that to more then 50000 with an OA.

Just remember him talking about a bypass system so that might be incorrect about a 50000 mile oil change.

I use Amsoil and love the stuff!(and use it in my roadrace car), I also added the amsoil double bypass oil filter system to my engine, then had the oil tested every 5,000 miles by blackstone labs, and they told me after a year or so of testing, that I didn't have to change my oil for 16,000 miles!, when you concider that the manufacters recomendation, is to change your oil every 5,000 miles, when using the shell rotella oil for diesel, and also its 16-18 qts ,I'd say its worth the added expense if your going to change your oil maybe once a year or every ten months or so also the filters are good for 24,000 miles accorrding to amsoil.

you might want to check on the filters... the ones that I get are good for 12500 so on my gas engines I just change the filter at ever 10000 and oil at 20000. I just got the oil in to put in the 7.3L but havent done teh swap casue of time... Hoping it works out well for me...

I usually change mine every 15,000 miles but don't use the amsoil filter. Been using the Wix filter every oil change
