F250 the deo5w40 is not as good as the series 3000 5w30 or the diesel marine 15w40, i have been running amsoil for 8 years in my truck with a bypass, the only thing that's not amsoil is the trans fluid, when i changed to the stallion torque converter i put in schaeffer's, before that it was amsoil.
Not sure about the non-DEO full-syn options, but I'm very happy with what I'm running now.
Glad you are getting the oil for free kuppa - that is a great offer. One word of caution, watch you used oil analysis reports. 7.3L's tend to run elevated copper wear when runnining extended intervals of that level. Oxidation is usually past the limit way before that. Here is an example and a link. I have run amsoil in other applications for extended OCI's, but the Powerstroke is a different animal and I haven't seen a UOA yet on a 7.3L running 20K+ intervals that didn't show something negative.
Hey Pete & Mike! Sorry to be a freakin ghost for so long! I am a turd and I appologize. I thought after moving to South Dakota and my wife getting out of the Army things would have slowed down some........or at least that's what I hoped!
