A little background, F350 6.0l auto tranny, with egr delete everything else is stock. So if I start my truck, let it warm up and drive off one of two things happens, it has a hard time shifting out of first, you have to rev it really hi and then let off for it to shift. Or it shifts fine and the turbo has a mind of its own, you will be driving along steady and the turbo will go from 0 to 20psi and back down. To solve both these problem all I need to do is restart the truck an then it runs just fine. Any ideas???
sounds like injector stiction. How long do you let it warm up? Full operating temperature?
Try leaving the key on an extra 30 seconds after the wait to start light goes off and see if it helps OR try plugging in the block heater and see if that helps.
npcc, I normally let the truck warm up for 2 to 3 min, but some times until its up to normal temp, I use the block heater when its below 0c (I am in Canada). It does it either way. I did replace 2 injectors about a month ago because a shop told me they were sticking. Is there some way to elevate that, or do I need to replace the rest of the injectors?
69cj I am not sure the last time the tranny was serviced, I am going to check the records. What is the average service interval?
npcc its an '05, the last code scan came up with turbo under boost. But no engine light has come on. Why do you feel that it may be sticky injectors? and what to you recommend to elevate this?
I will give the EBP sensor a try.
