hey guys, i have 2001 f250 , and just few minutes ago i was driving and the truck just died, so i puled over turn the key and it started right up???????
WTF?????????? can anyone tell me what might be a problem?
it kinda scared the S%$#$@% out of me,,,,,,,
i just installed 2005 f250 mirrors, heated with signal and running lights, do you think this might have somthing to do with it?
thanks ryaneverk2 for replaying to my post
that was on my mind, and i wanted to do it first tommorrow, its scary when 8000# truck just quits, its damn SCARY!!!!!!!!
so ill change it tommorrow
illpost back if it happens again
thanks again
so back to square 1, it happen 2 times today, just died, and i justput new CPS sensor
so question is, it happen after my power mirror install, i guess i have to disconect my mirrors and see if that might cause it
im just lost now, any sugestions?
it never happen before
im just mad like hell,
can my heated mirrors cause overload in the circuit?
maybe i taped in to the wrong power line?
just dont know
I don't think it's a fuel problem with the symptoms you are describing seems wiring harness/electrical to me. Have you considered the injector harness under the valve cover? Did you disturb/unhook/splice into any ground wires when you installed your mirrors?
as far as the grounds, the ground screw thats under the cover by a left foot by the Hood handle, thats where i put the ground from mirror,
the only thing happen was when i took the ground off it was like i disconnected battery , everything flashed in and out, could this cause the problem?
That sounds like a very good place to start to me. Retighten that ground and make sure it has good contact, it is most like a primary ground for the PCM.
On Edit: If It was me, I would find another spot to ground your mirrors as well, just to be safe.
The problem coincided with your new mirror install....correct?
Electrical mirrors....electrical CPS...hmmmmmm.....i saw a gent
have a CPS problem when he turned on his wipers. After replacing
the CPS he said it fixed the problem. I suspect our cps's can be
a bit sensitive to greater electrical noise generated by various devices.
This was one of the benefits of the new "blue" CPS. A cleaner stronger
signal less likely to be interfered with. A theory.
ill do it tommorrow, ill change the grounds and change the power wire connection too,
and see if it solves my problem,
could i Fup my PCM, when i took that ground off?
