I hope I can explain this. But when I drive with the drivers window down. On aceleration I here a click when you let off the go pedal. Could it be the low presure pump relay clicking. That seems like the only thing down under the truck near where the noise is coming from.
Is it "tick tick tick tick tick tick" type noise?
Less at idle and faster driving (such as passing a fence or wall to amp the sound)?
What you describe sure seems exactly what sound I had.
If it is, it's most likely is related to the engine.
On a fresh oil change, there is a ticking sound.
It goes away after a few hundred miles on the oil and is "normal."
Mine was loudest at the left wheel well.
Someone told me the 6.4L did this until the oil had miles and would go away.
I'm waiting for my second oil change to see if my ticking noise comes back.
The sound is not there all the time. Like tampacamper said it only happens when you let off the accelerator and you can only hear it with the window down.
