I've got a 65 F250 Camper Special with a front shoe that was dragging. The drum has 3 slotted screw heads that I assume hold the drum on. I sprayed pene. oil and tried varioius tools that couldn't produce enough leverage. Is there a special tool or any tricks?
I have always had very good luck with a little heat (Torch) and a impact screw driver. If you don't have one I suggest you by a good one good tips are a must. Craftsman aren't bad Harbor Freight seems to twist when used. Be safe
p:s To answer your question when you do pull off the hub you still may need to remove the drum from the hub to have it machined. But you can service the brakes and bearings.
I thought KO 1960 was asking how to remove the screws that hold the drum on the hub. They don't need to be pressed (beat, drilled ,ground ,sworn at maybe). Then once you get the screws out you might have to press the drums off the hub. Be careful I just looked up drums for my 64 250 might make a difference real expensive $100 plus, unless you found some cheaper let me know please.
