wtats involved in replacing clock spring 97 f-150
my horn and cruse quit working and the airbag light is on. it blinks a few times then stays on. i read that the clock spring is more than likely the problem, i have read several different posts one will say it is a easy fix others will say it is very difficult. id appreciate any advise. thanks don

Changing clockspring is fairly simple, you just gotta be very careful as you will be removing the airbag then steering wheel to access it. There is a specific process to make it safe to remove. Disconnect battery, wait for 3-5 min to discharge, then remove 2 screws and airbag. Remove steering wheel. Clockspring is on the steering shaft. New one will come with a plastic retainer to keep it from unwinding. If any of this is wrong I'm sure someone will say so.
