I really don't know anyone on this board personally, but I do enjoy this site and all the good stuff you guys post.
My screen name is rather boring, sandy for my first name and c for the first letter in my last name, what can I say.
720Deere, I have 4 JD tractors on my place. 2 working, 1 tore apart to be fixed and 1 retired. Love all of them, almost as much as my 2011 Superduty.

Not to pollute the thread, but you are not the first to comment on the old Deere. I grew up on an all John Deere farm. My uncle still farms and has an extensive collection of two cylinder Deeres. My dad has a 720 diesel and a 720 gas. I have the 720 diesel and my brother has an 80 and a 620. They are all used for antique tractor pulling except for the 620 which is in the process of being restored. That project has seemed to stall out, but I'm hoping to get him motivated to finish it up this winter.
I will dig up a few pictures and post them in another thread.

Yeah, I grew up on a large farm in South Georgia (Willacoochee is the town). My brother has the farm today and we were an all John Deere family as well. He has all modern equipment now.
I used this one because the screen name I usually use on these types of forums ("EricM") was already taken here. I use the "k1500z71" in a couple of places... GM people will recognize it as a 1/2 ton 4x4 Z-71.
Mine is obvious I know, but I hadn't looked at new trucks in years. Hadn't kept up with diesels. I was actually set on getting a Tundra for the last few years, then decided I wanted a truck that would do anything I asked of it for the next 10-15 years (not knowing what all I may have in and/or behind it). I was considering an '09 or '10 Ford and then found out about the new engine. After probably 150 hours of research and stumbling on this site, I had to pick a screen name and "6.7Fan" seemed appropriate, because by that point I was a fan of the engine and pretty sure I'd be buying an '11. The experience gained here pushed me over the edge and I couldn't be more of a fan today.
Ha, you were planning on a Tundra and ended up with a diesel F350...I'd say you've ensured your Man Card has never been in better health.
Great story, thanks for sharing.
My username is simply because my construction job used to have me getting transferred from state to state every few months, but now I run the show I can stay in Cali at least 9 mos out the year and be with the family.
BTW, I see a lot ofJohn Deere's around these parts. Nice tractors but I wouldn't give up my 1991 Ford 8830.

You joined a Ford forum with a Chevy truck user name?

Yeah, I've been using that screen name since 95 when I bought my first Z-71 truck. I've got two GM trucks now (05 GMC 2500HD Duramax and an 08 Avalanche Z-71). By this time next year I should have officially rejoined the Ford ranks. It will be a '12 F350 Supercab, shortbox Lariat with all the the toys. I know I'll have to order it because you never see that combo on dealer lots. I'll be ordering next summer.
I have been using wiedsworld since 2000, I was stationed in Hawaii (rough tour, ha ha) and the wied is the first 4 letters of my last name and world speaks for itself, it is my world and the rest of the people are just living in it!
SGT93, I thought 10 years was the point of no return...I'm sure things are different now with the ops-tempo...I joined AF in 1983 and did 23 years and I'm glad I stuck it out for the retirement, but it would be hard to join todays military and do 20 with all the deployments!
It sucked getting out brother but I had to leave one family for another. My wife misses the Corps as well. I traveled to somewhere around 38 different countries with two combat tours. I would be retiring soon.

Glad to hear about the plans for your next truck! FTE is the best place I've ever found to learn about these things!

Yeah, kind of rediculous I know. I've been a toyota fan since I was 15 1/2 years old and had a 1981 Toyota Supra. I drove a 1991 Toyota 4Runner for years and years and actually still have it sitting in the back of the garage (still runs great). Before this truck I had a 3/4 Ton GMC gasser and had nothing but problems with it and that's why I was going to go back to Toyota for the new truck. In the end, I just didn't think it would be enough truck for me in the next few years. We're getting a much larger boat in the Spring and I want a 5th wheel trailer sometime in the next couple of years...and I don't want to have to upgrade again. So lots and lots of research put me into this truck....and wow, I love it.
Back in the 90's when the internet websites came of age, I owed a paint horse. It had a very strange name, So Painted Horse was my user name and the password was the actual horses name.
I've got multiple user names on the various website across the web. The user name is always my hint for the password that I need to use.
