Ok guys, I know I've only been the Mod here for a couple of days, but I cruise this forum quite a bit. The last couple of days I've been looking at past threads and have noticed a lot of inquiries about upgrading our "slicks". I would like to know if any of you that have done the usual upgrades ( PS,PB,Disc Breaks, Etc,) would like to do a write-up on them for the new members that keep asking the same questions over, and over, and over......
If anybody would like to do that I would be willing to do the editing and I could put it all in a "sticky" at the top of the forum. I don't expect one person to do it all, so it could be broken down to individual subjects that different people could help with. I think it would be a great addition to this forum, and help new people immensely!
If you'd like to help with this project you can post here what you'd be willing to do. Any takers?
Don.
Take a tip from an old site cruiser who has been around longer than the site date reset Jun 99 sez, you can make as many threads as you like and chain them to the top. 67-72 has them this forum doesn't. Readers aint gonna read them, or they'll post a new thread anyways, but please carry on with your project.
I have done power steering/disc brake, 3 spd to C6, rear brake size increase to Bossman.
John is right, there used to be several "stickies" at the top of the page. One was an excellent parts interchange guide that if I remember correctly was written by FordboyPete a number of years ago. What happened to those? The space is better used for forum Q & A, but that's just my opinion. Tom
As a newer member, I would find that pretty helpful too. I agree with jowilker that most new people probably won't read them, or will post the same old questions anyway. But I tend to search before I post, and I think having some quick references to common stuff would be pretty helpful. It might make it easier when new people (like myself) post really common questions to politely refer them to one of the stickies at the top.
I did a tech article on installing door glass, division bar & vent window gaskets & anti-rattler kit; several years ago. Would love to see items like that within this forum.
Even if someone ask a repeated questions its easier to advise them to the top of the forum; then re-typing.
I'm also louzy on bookmarking items as well.
