Thanks mueckster. I am not a diesel mechanic by any stretch of the imagination but I thought by taking an old wg and soldering the hole to make it smaller would work. But as I think or stumble blindly through it I can see shortening the turns on the shaft would be more precise. I understand what kwik is demonstrating and with what you said I think I get it. I also wonder if the pcm would try to compensate for any of this. I do not have all the functions the pcm affects totally understood.

Ok good to know ill look into it. Its low on the list rite now. Have a buddy that has one and he likes it, but then again hes a hell of a mechanic and has tweaked his to get mid 30s in boost, but IMO hes putting way to much boost to his 7.3 with OE head studs. haha

Im not lookin to get that high, I'd be happy at mid 20s! I just tell myself its not a hotrod, its a work truck!

When I had my stock turbo with ATS compr and 1.0 exh housing with the Turbo Master WG Controller, I had it set at 26-28 psi. With my 38r w/ 1.15 (no wg), I am pushing close to 40 psi. I haven't had any stock head gasket/bolt issues YET.

Sweet guys. So what should I expect as far as boost goes when I get my DP with the stock turbo? Tuner is high on the list, after guages, and prob hpx, frx, and AIH delete.

So should I add Clay IC boots to the list before the tuner to be safe?

mueckster: i'd love to have the mods you got, but I'm too much of a worry wort when it comes to my PSD!, (oh and im broke as it is)! Pushin 40lbs would be sweet! But like I said before...............its not a hotrod Kenny its a work truck! haha

The IC boots would be a good idea. I roughed up the ends of the IC pipes with some 36 grit sandpaper to give then a little more bite. They are holding the pressure just fine.

I haven't had issues popping off pipes under boost with the factory coupler. See how it goes before you spend money.
