My truck has now 3 times when shifting from 2 to 3 landed somewhere in between(neutral). Let off the go and it goes into third. All 3 times it happened before tranny had reached operating temp.

This tends to happen on freshly programmed (aftermarket) programs. I would say ask them to reset the Trans Strategy and go easy on the truck for a hundred miles so it can relearn. If its still does it after a hundred miles...then IDK

It is amazing how smart these new trucks are. I had a 2000 Jeep that I decommissioned for about 3 months with the battery pulled. When I brought it back online I could tell it was relearning how to be a Jeep again. The startup idle was different and the shifting was different. It eventually settled back in again.
