P041 code EGR problem
I wrote earlier about my 2004 F-250 6.0 that through a P041 code. The responses I received pointed to a possible problem with the EGR circuit.
QUESTION:
My truck has approx. 46,000 miles on it. Is the EGR part of the emissions control equipment? If so, should it be included in the 100,000 emissions warranty?
The International Harvester engine didn't have an EGR on that engine when it was used in their vehicles, why did Ford add it to their vehicles?

It is part of the emissions system yes. Ford would have needed it in order to meet the EPA mandated emissions for the model year.
It international was using the same motor in a different application it may not have been regulated by the EPA to meet the same requirements.
