I found a front clip from a 93 jag, dont have all the details yet.I saw one post that said up to 87 will work but not past that year. Any info would be great.I also have a lead on a volare front clip.I have heard that the volare is hard to get parts for,Ebay has a complete kit for the volare front for under 300.Any suggestion would be thankful.
The Jag front is very easy to install and not as wide as the Volare.
The Jag is not very expensive for parts. Only snag is the steering rack might need a couple of u-joints. I did it and it works fine.

Well I just wrote a couple paragraphs!!! I went to post it and something went haywire!
Anyway I have a Jag IFS and You can check out my pics in my albums.
I gotta get back to work for now but so far I like the Jag swap.
I will get back to ya later if ya have any questions send me a PM and I will do what I can to answer them. there are several guys on here with them and they will chime in soon, I'm sure.

The 83 xj-6 or xj-12 is a really good fit for your 51. The 83 is a series 3 which is the best one. Pix also in my gallery of the jag in my 49. There are a couple of long thread on the Jag IFS. Search on Jag xj 6 IFS and spend some time reading.
Thanks ya'll for our comments. I am also going to do the rear end also,
I think it would be a good fit. I have been looking at the threads, wow Alot of info about the build. This must be the domino effect, I got the truck to get running with the flathead and leave it all like it was. I really like the flattie but I need to put her on the back burner when $$ are there, didn't realize the cost of the rebuild and do it right. I have a little 302 with a t5 I am going to use. With that running gear I think it will be pretty sweet. My fabbing skills are real rusty, lucky i have a certified welder buddy that is a trick fab master(is that a trade name??!!)The last welding I did is with a old buss box.
Hey 49 willard that is some real shoe horning to do that header and steering. It looks like you have a mill, thanks for your pic's real clean build.
Is that the stock Column?
Old Buzz Box? LOL thats what I'm doing my heavy welding with! Its an OLD Forney model C. I am pretty sure the welder is older than my truck!
I did a little research on it and the first Model C was built in 1915(If I remember correctly) It was my Dads and its what I learned to weld with so I just keep using it!
Now I wonder what it would be like to have something more modern...
And fab skills rusty? Yeah me, too but I am enjoying my progress so far.
My main satisfaction is doing it myself, nothing better for the attitude and wallet! I am far from a great engineer but i get it done and I have seen worse! Anyway I hope ya do go with the JAG cause I was gonna buy the new mustang II setup for like $2500 and started asking questions here and was interested in the JAG due to the cost! Bought mine for $300
That leaves room for some extra parts!
I think the 302 is a better choice than the 351W. the 302 is a bit narrower and it may be enough that you don't need expensive steering joints. Not sure though.
Jeff and Nicolle how do you get to your pic's? i tried but no go. What is the secret code?? LOL Thanks again is sure is great to be around some real gear heads.
when looking at my pics, the ones you see with fenders are F3 fenders and the openings are larger than the F1's
I am putting F1 fenders on and i don't have them in my possesion yet so no pics! I don't even know what it will look like myself!
I gotta go get them soon, like maybe this weekend!
