00 Exploder AWD and power windows not working
Driving down the road on Sunday, 4wd hi and 4wd low lights start blinking. Power windows no worky. It did this once before and I found a blown fuse and replaced it and the problem went away. Went and bought some 10a and 15a fuses today, tried to replace the 10a fuse that was blown with another 10a fuse and it popped immediately. So I tried a 15a fuse and it held for 1-2 seconds max and popped. The manual says this circuit is supposed to have a 7.5a fuse in it and this circuit is for:
Battery Saver Relay
Electronic Shift Relay
Interior Lamp Relay
Electronic Shift Control Module
Any ideas on where to start or common culprits: 00 Exploder, 4.0 SOHC, 5 speed auto, AWD, XLT model. If it matters any, its fuse 26 inside the cab.

Did some searching, posibly the 4x4 relay is corroded bad enough to short? last few lines of this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...nt-engage.html
Edit: On a second thought, start removing those relays one at a time until you quit popping fuses, at least you will find the circuit thats bad.....

After reading that, i am betting your blown fuse is tied to the 4x4 system somewhere, call it a gut feel. Good luck with it, wish I was closer, the wife bowls tonight so i have a whole evening to do whatever, drinking beer and turning wrenches is always a good sideline
