Does anyone know if the 2003 Explorer E.B. has a spare wheel that has the Satin Nickel finish of the other 4? I am just wondering if I can include it in the tire rotation and it still match. Thanks.

Well, I know its aluminum by looking under the vehicle. For me, it would be hard to tell whether it is the E.B. Satin Nickel color w/o removing it and viewing it side-by-side with the others.
i had no idea they started putting aluminum rims as a spare
well im not sure how it works on the new explorers on the old ones you could just lower it to the ground and take it off the cable that holds it up there and put it next to your other rims but that was the old ones so if you want to you could try that

There are 3 different versions of the 17" alloy wheels. The XLT Sport have the standard aluminum version. Eddie Bauers have Satin Nikel finish, and Limiteds have chrome. I can tell that my 17" spare is alloy, but without removing it it is difficult to tell whether I have the matching Eddie Bauer alloy or the XLT Sport alloy. I guess I can try removing it during my spare time <no pun intended>.

look in the manual for the proper way to rotate tires on your explorer
Why would a five tire rotation not be adviseable? I was thinking of it as a way to make use of the spare to extend the tire life of the other tires by 25%.
from what I've seen, you are supposed to rotate all 5 tires (at least on pre-02's). What always confused me was that the older models all had a basic spare tire, not matching. I'd be suprised if Ford started putting a matching tire as the spare. It would be cool, but costwise, it doesn't make sense imho.
well in my 02 manual it says to chris cross the fronts and move them to the rear and move the rears straight to the front then adjust the air pressure, plus my XLS has a steel wheel spare that would look funny
