Fuel Tank Selector problem

just a bummer that it is, as I had intentions of changing out the hose's feeding off the metal lines into the FSV while I was there, now I gotta get creative by eithier choking off lines or just draining the tanks into a 40 gallon trashcan or something, that should go unnoticed right? Haha.
thanks for the idea about the vice grips tho, better than my clamp idea, good for quick test of where the fuel is coming from.

just thought I'd update, you were right about it siphoning out the tank I had selected, which thankfully, was the rear tank which was near 1/4 full.
AS when I pulled the inlet hose off the FSV for the front, the steady stream of death rained down dejavu all over again, thankfully, I could plug it with a bolt and hose clamp it down to hold me over till the new part gets put in.
now its off to checkers autoparts.

So, interesting fact, the mounting is way different from the OEM part. the 2 inlets from the tanks are on the opposide, if you try and rotate to mount it turns the valve INTO the frame so that doesn't help. Looking like connect hose's and zip tie to frame at this rate. Also, on my 84 its a 5 pin connector, not a 6 with one missing, and my colors are slightly different compared to that post. Going through the chilton book and possible contacting the dealership for a e-mail of what color goes to what so its done right the first time.
*side note- IF I knew which pin would count as E, then I can go with the idea EDCBA, but since my colors don't match that post, I have Yellow-blue, Yellow-white, Blue-yellow, Brown-white, Orange (faded red maybe?)
*Edit, in all fairness, my stock wiring is faded (it is OEM stuff here) so I missed the white stripes on these wires.
*edit Tester light showed power to Orange (possible red if faded) when rear tank selected, Power to Brown/white when front selected

so, 2 bad glow plugs replaced, and one FTSV later, she fired right up and purged the fuel lines on her own thankfully.
Nothing like hearing the roar of your baby fire up and turning the head of your neighbors.
THanks to all those that helped, now to make ammends to the wife for the place smelling like diesel, haha.

Just for the record, the valve you should get from autozone is FSV2K, or just make sure if available you get the 6 port valve with the pigtail, don't get home and realize you forgot it. The nice part about FSV2K is it is the same price as FSV2, if not they charge you and extra 19.99 for the pigtail if you buy them separately.
