We'll our trip finally came. Been waiting for it for quite a while already. It involved a 400 mile trip(one way) of which 100 miles were in the Texas Hill Country(actually the fun part of the trip). This area had several steep grades;with the highest being two 7% uphill and two 7% downhill. Of course my truck is pulling with the Tow/Haul mode activated and the CC set at 65. Man, let me tell you. It was one of the funnest towing trips I've ever had. On the uphill pulls, the RPM's would rise to 2500-3000 and the gear would drop to 4th. Only once did it drop to 3rd for a short time on the longest pull. Downhill, the engine brake worked as advertised. No BS like the "Rumle in the Rockie's" reports. As soon as the truck began picking up speed past 65 it would engage and keep the rig at 65. When it was too much to handle, the tranny would drop a gear. Flawless system. All I would see in front of me is brake lights and not once did I press my brake pedal. In the process I passed several 18 wheelers and other trucks towing trailers. On one occassion, I passed a Chebby towing a long 5'er like mine. As I passed by it, I heard the loud roar of the engine like it wanted to jump out of the compartment. At the end, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Love my truck and cant wait for my next trip.
