4.6 cams

got a friend with a dual cam 4.6 (out of a 93 lincoln) and he set the cams aside then forgot what order he set them in, is there anyway to tell which ones are which?

Exhaust cams use a small gear that is driven from a chain that runs off of the intake cams. Driver's side intake cam has the "boss" for the cam position sensor pickup on the face of the gear.
Other than that, he'll need to cross reference the engineering numbers stamped on the cams to verify which goes where.
