4.6 Liter cam problems

I was thinking of getting a set of aftermarket cams for my 4.6 4V. After reading up though and talking to some people I seem to be hearing a lot about lifter pump up problems and how a lot of cars run terrible after stepping up to bigger cams. Has anybody run into this or has heard of something similar.

also what brand and spec cam are you looking at, and you will need aftermaket comp valve springs with any cam upgrade.
