Stepside Bed Question

I am planning on swapping out the bed on my truck. I want to find a stepside bed. What years did the stepside beds have the flat top rails? 77-79? I know the earlier ones were angled but I dont rember what year they went to the flat ones.

My guess is the second bed is fabbed I have only seen the rolled style like the first one.

Its not fabbed. They came both ways from the factory. The flat style was on later years. I just dont know the exact year they changed from the angled style to the flat style.

I have the flat top on mine, its a 77. A quick question myself about the flaresides, anyone know if the sloped tops are wider than the flat tops? always seems like they look wider, never have been able to find out.

But i think the sloped were on bump sides and the flat on dentsides.

I have seen the sloped ones on bumpsides. I am thinking 76 was the last year they used the ones that were sloped but I am not sure. Was hoping someone knew for sure.

I have a flat top step side bed i am trying to sell its not really beat up and all the wood is there its a 77...pics are in the thread 1977 f100 build
