Hello and welcome to FTE

It sounds like you have a fun new project.

If you don't want to keep the stock steering, alot of folks here convert to the Toyota boxes. I kept the stock steering and brakes on my 51 and they are just fine.

For seats, you can try and find a stock 48-52 seat or get something out of a compact truck - S-10, Ranger, Toyota, etc.

As far as door panels, folks do make them - I'm assuming you mean the decorative panel part not the metal inspection cover. I'd look at the interiors at LMC.

Also, here's a list of parts places, and a link for a shop manual - which you will need!

Welcome to the board.

The first question I have is do you have stock seats? If you do and you don't like them you will have some trading stock to put toward a set you do like. Stock seats out of a panel are rare, especially the passenger seat. Most seats were pulled out and replaced over the years and many panels were ordered without a passenger seat for more available storage room.

You have to post some pictures of your truck. I'd like to know about the seats you have.

I've installed bucket seats out of a Dodge Caravan. They fit perfectly. If you find a Caravan with middle row bucket seats, get one of them to use on the passenger side of your Panel truck. The middle row bucket seats in the Caravan flip forward to allow access to the rear row. I have the driver's seat from the Caravan as the driver's seat in the Panel and a right middle row bucket seat from the same Caravan as the passenger seat in the Panel truck. It flips forward enough to allow access inside the cab from the passenger door. You can also grab the third row bench seat from the Caravan to install behind the front seats in your Panel in case you want additional seating.
