i want to take a 7.3 liter turbo diesel and put it into a car. I dont have access to an engine to get the dimensions and cant find it on the web. If anyone could tell me what the physical dimensions are that would be greatly appreciated. Also any other ideas on what bodies would work the best or any other suggestions would be helpful
i dont but i have a buddy that does i will try to get ahold of him and im sure it can be done another friend of mine has a corrvette with cummins 12 valve in it
id really like to put it in a mustang body, but not sure what year body would work best. Also thought about maybe like a thunderbird or a crown vic or similar. any other ideas are welcome this is still in the idea stage. right now im workin out the kinks and putting it on paper so all help and suggestions are welcome
to 6cylbill: i agree with the beefing up the suspension im thinkin that ill take the engine and trans and rear end out of the victim part doning truck and then do some fab work to build the front end to it wont break in half when i drop the engine in it
Try something like a late 50's ford custom 300. Those cars were TANKS! I know, because I have a 59 in the garage awaiting a restoration. Has the original inline six in it, so I am thinking that you could stuff a cummins in one pretty easy, as they came with an inline six from the factory. Hell, I even tossed around the idea of retro-fitting my 89's 351w in it, and I know it would fit because I measured it, I would have to tweak the front frame just a little, but I know it would work.

PLEASE don't ruin a Mustang with that. A T-bird or Crown Vic would be ok, but a 'Stang is just wrong.
I have no idea what the dimensions of the powerstroke are, sorry. My family has never owned a diesel as long as I have been alive. I don't think it could be too much bigger than a 5.4l could it? I mean, they stuffed those motors both in the same trucks, right?
