Ok sounds good, and me too I guess once I get em and put the new ones in. I wanted to change them together too, but I don't think I will for the same reason as you.
You only need one copper washer per injector. When I installed the new injectors in my 85, I just used a wrench, untill they were tight. It seems to run all right.
I removed the lines from one bank of injectors removed the return lines from that bank, removed and replaced the injectors on that side, installed new return lines and caps, tighted the injector lines, then moved to the other bank. I left the lines mounted to the pump, just carefull moved them to the side to get the injector out. Yes I had a little serface rust on the body of the injector, between the top threads and where the copper washer mounts. The copper washer seals the bottom, but a little moisture works it's way threw the top threads.
Ok, thanks. I saw pretty much the same thing. Started it up last night after injector swap and it sounds great! No leaks and I'm ready to put the banks on
NOTE: The return line kit from Pensacola Diesel isn't great at all and I don't recommend it. The return lines are blue, and I had to get extra fuel lines from Strauss auto.
I found the same with the Pensacola return lines. Not too impressed. I'm going for the metal fittings ASAP anyways, I'm not dealing with this leaky plastic BS any more.
ok well im leaking really bad from there and also one of the return lines at the back driver side of motor.. im thinking of just getting the whole kit and injectors that you guys where just talking about
