had one of those ***** on the shifter in my camaro.
im not trying to burst your bubble, but i hated it.
the shifter itself was perfect, but the **** heats up to 3000* in the summer sun, and has the thermal heat capacity of a small sun meaning that not only was it hot, but even after using a wet rag to cool it off it was still hot as heck.
i gave myself a light burn by grabbing it unexpectedly the first time it got really hot.
oh, and dont expect that nice shiny finish to last either.
because its so hot, your hands will sweat when you use it and it will get grimy and nasty in a hurry... meaning you have to take it off to polish it.
after the 3rd or 4th time off to polish it the lock nut starts getting loose and it starts slipping when you use it.
if that wasnt enough, the red paint came off of mine.
i ended up replacing it with a 2" UHMW black polished plastic ball with a brass thread insert.
i threaded it on all the way, and never missed the **** once.
it doesnt get hot, is easier to use, and IMO, looks better, especially considering that you can put it and forget it. the **** may look better right after a fresh polish, but that only lasts about 5-10 days depending on use.
good luck!
