the lifespan of block heater is limited

Just a warning to those who keep her plugged in all the time. I have always had the understanding that these heaters have a limited lifespan of hours. I am not sure on how many thousands of hours they were designed to last, but as long as you use a high octane timer (extension cord) 1-2 hours preheating should be all you need except when it's below zero.
