i saw a ford ranger with a 302 HO from a mustang in it, and i thought to my self man that would be cool to do!
if i wanted to do this what would be the easiest platform to use, i was going to buy a cheap ranger to scoot around in durring the winter anyways but this one was something like a 97 or so, i didnt talk to the guy but i would if i saw him, i was wondering if there was a way to keep the 4wheel drive in it as well, i assume the axles would be to weak to take the power but im not shure
i did a little bit of youtube browsing and found this, YouTube - V8 Ford Ranger Splash 347 Stroker
if i did this, i think i would want to build it like this, im not shure if the video is fake but at least it looks good!
has anyone ever attempted a build like this on FTE? are there build journals?
I think the easest years for the swap are '98' and newer. Kind of easy really using the Explorer 5.0, computer and wiring. No swap kits made cause it's basically a drop in swap. Some have used the AWD transfer case, others have used the 4406 x-fer case out of a F-150 or Expedition. One of the cleanest builds was this one, builder took truck of the year at two different Ranger sites. Really well done.

Edit: V-8Ranger302 is on this site also and has a carb'd blown 302 in a '88'
