Super Duty Brake Question

Hello I have a 2000 super duty 4X4 XLT 5.4 and i have noticed that when braking hard or just braking in general it pulls to the right a little and really pulls if you smash the brake. Any help is much appreciated:

Without looking at the truck I would be suspect of a sticking caliper or caliper pin.

X2 take a look, maybe grease up the slide pins and be sure you don't have any leaks anywhere.

X3 look at the slide pins..also look at the pads and see if they are worn at an angle.

Could also be an indicator of the that you may need to get a kit for the slide pins because of wear or a sticking caliper.

Little different view here. I have seen this when the power steering is the problem. As the pump is going out it will pull hard to one side and only when braking. I would start at the brakes also but my next stop would be the pump.

That's a first for me to hear the pump cause a pull. Have to make a note of that for future reference.

According to Ford service disks, also check wheel alignment and steering gear valve. Steering gear valve is easy check, Rotate tires and see if the pull direction changes.

OP has the 5.4, not the diesel... no hydroboost, so the systems aren't tied together...

I agree most likely it is a sticking slide pin... easy to check, and cheap to fix so start there!
