You should have no issues at all with this. I know you will feel some improvement, and it is a cheap improvement. But it does get you started in wanting more.
WHen you get ready to really play, ask alot of questions.. All of us have our favorite tuners ( DP ) and no one seems to better be ( DP ) then the others that I am aware of. So I wont even go into what to look for (DP) until you know what you want. So.. with that being said (DP) have fun.
Its for a buddy's truck he doesn't have a lot of money and said he wanted to do it. I was just checking it out for him. Now when you order the DP Tuner what's up with the $30 custom tune.
whats the 1.5k mod? and would you recommend this? and you said it is safe for the truck right? I just dont have any money for a DP tuner....and prolly wont for a while....
The 1.5k mod is a resistor that you can buy from radio shack for around $1. It splices in the ICP sensor and causes a cam like effect. Its done by raising the oil pressure in the hpop/injectors. The safest one is 1.0k resistor.

Are you referring to something like this? img002 pictures from trucks photos on webshots This is something I posted on Webshots when I did mine years ago. Uses a 10k ohm resistor, not 1.0k. You can use a 5.9k, but will cause higher EGTs and rougher idle. I have see it marketed with an 18k ohm and an adjustable version.
