The point is that Mercon is no longer made. Motorcraft Brand Mercon V says "Not for use in Transfer Cases" right on the bottle. Therefore the XL12 has to be the one used, because every other Motorcraft fluid also says not for use in transfer cases.

The parts guys at the dealerships should be informed of this. They look up things by your VIN, and when it says "Mercon", they try to steer you toward Mercon V.

Watch this! I just found it.

That's because FTE has HTML tags turned off.

We can cut/paste your links to that Valvoline fluid. No problem.

But if you want your links to work, you have to enclose them thusly:

<url>value</url> but change the <> to square brackets.

Example
Valvoline? Multi-Vehicle Transfer Case Fluid : Product Catalog - Valvoline®

and
Valvoline 855459 - Transfer Case Fluid | O'Reilly Auto Parts

Or you can just use the hyperlink button in the compose box

I definitly would not use LV in a transfer case......LV is a thinner fluid.

I also would not put Mobil 1 ATF in place of any Mercon family product.

I put SP in the last 3 trucks I've owned and added 1 bottle of RED lube guard.

jut my humble opinion.
