my fuel filter header is leaking out of the heater connector and someone said they had a drawing of the header? and dose enyone know what size o rings is in there so i can have this stuff before i tear it apart.
Just replaced the O rings on my 91 and it was a piece of cake . Got the O rings at Advance Auto Parts . Just take the heater apart and take it with you and they will match them up for you. took me about 1hr. to fix and that included the trip to get the O rings .
lol ok i guess i should clarify, he disconnected the return from the filter header, to the injectors, the return on the back of the motor is still hooked up. i hooked the other back to the header but i dont have a check valve
mine is leaking through the electrical connector on top for the heater. that little plastic deal would fill up with fuel and overflow. i took it apart to change the o rings and found that it was tore up and kinda rigged. so it went from a small leak to a massive leak. sooo.... i got mad and filled the electrical connector with JB Weld and low and behold no more leak. thet'll work for now untill i can fix it right anyway.
I have the same problem.
Exactly where did you put the JB Weld, top or bottom of the sensor.
Does the black cap just pop off.
just throwin this out there, the JB weld is just a band aid till i can fix it, i pulled the wire off the heater and filled the inside of the white electrical connector with jb weld. itll work for now till i can replace the heater, mine is fubar'd
i wouldn't worry to much about it.
we hardly read about and replacing the fuel heaters.
chances are most of our fuel heaters are inop.
myself included for never testing it yet.and what would it take? all id have to do is touch the head and see if feels warm lol.
i guess its supposed to help cold starts, but how can it do much in such a short period of time, with all the cold fuel flowing through it from the tank.
perhaps it makes a difference, but i really doubt it.they're expensive to replace too.
id say if she ain't leaking anymore your good to go lol.
