I put one of the 2 to 1 adapters on my 300 and have been very happy with it. I had to work on the mounting holes on the adapter itself (file them out) due to them being to narrow to mount to my factory intake, but other than that I feel it was money well spent. If I remember correctly the adapter wasn't but about $45-$50 shipped.
I used the adapter from trans dapt, I would question them about the measurement between the mounting holes before I ordered then measur the width between your mounting bolts to
be on the safe side. I also used a holley 350 cfm 2bbl.
Do the 2 to 1 adapters work very well since they hinder air flow?
I am not certain it does. I guess you would have to calculate the flow capability of the 1 barrel hole. I think if it was > or = to the need for 1 cylinder at your max rpm it would not hinder the flow. Someone with more knowledge can comfirm this, or educate us.
I have a 77 F100, and I don't think the adapters that jem44357 indicated above will work for my year. Between the carburetor and manifold is (for lack of a better term) a "smog spacer". I have completely removed everything attaching to the spacer. The problem is that the is an extra "hole" on the manifold that goes into this spacer (it is for the now bypassed EGR). These adapters do not look like they will fully cover this hole. This is the reason I have not removed the "smog spacer entirely and just mounted the carb on the manifold. Any ideas?
