rear gears

i am starting a new post to my original post "power loss".I think ive determined that i dont have a power problem.i have a gearing problem.my 96 450 has a ton of low end power, too much as a matter of fact.in fifth gear the truck is screaming rpms makes me wish i had another gear to shift. i do not have any idea what rear gears i have.the tag is missing on the axle and the door sticker is gone as well.what is the best gear ratio i can use? i need a highway truck not a sherman tank.i run 7.50 16 bias ply workhorse tires.someone suggested 4.10 gears but i would like to hear some more opinions

I'm guessing something like 4:88's or 5:13's in the rear of that truck.

As far as what to change to, depends on the use of the truck. With the 5 speed you could probably get away with using 3:73's if you do a lot of highway driving and still have enough low end grunt to get a load moving.
