mine will buck underload tuned. the EGR is taken out of the equation. could a bad ISP be causing the bucking.
No, but a bad ICP could . Seriously though, there are a number of things that could cause the "bucking". If it happens "tuned" and not stock, then look at the tune as the issue IMO.
The more I read about this powerstrokehelp guy the more it seems like he's trying to mess up trucks not fix them. Maybe he thinks he'll drum up more business for himself?????
I agree Tim - using Prolong because Bill Hewitt says so is a poor idea at best. He gave bad advice several times and has somewhat corrected it over the years. One piece of bad advice was to use Mercon V in the transmission. I have been told he corrected that in the videos (hopefully he has).
Using any oil additive is a questionable thing w/ the 6.0L. If you are experiencing stiction issues, then (again as Tim said), Rev-X seems to have worked for a number of people - although its success is often times temporary. If you don't have stiction issues, then just use the proper oil and change it and the filter at the proper interval.

hahaha, too early for me. yeah, does it stock and every tune i have.
It may take a moment for the HSS to do ts thing, mine took just over 1000 miles and it made a great difference. What Mark says is correct, use the correct motorcraft filters and be faithful with frequency of oil changes and use synthetics.
ok just took it for a ride. no bucking. EGR disconnected and new Air filter. MORE Power noticed. but i still have a full throttle hesitation abouve 70mph. a pulsating miss. like if engine out of balance. injection problem.
Yep... that is what I have here - what's the fix????

I tried it once before just as preventative maintanence. I sent a sample into Blackstone Labs and it did no harm and all reports cam back just fine (after running for 5,000 miles).
I now have a "lazy injector" and have tried it again. I changed my oil and filter and added 1 jug (2qts) and will run for 5,000 miles to see if it improves??
My dealer diesel mechanic wants me to drop my truck off some evening so he can do a "first thing in the morning" cold soak test of my truck when hooked up to his computer. This actual test has never been done before and will help pin-point what is actually going on he states (so at this point, not 100% sure if I have an injector problem or not.... even though he saw it "drop out" during last month's testing of my truck).
I figure Hot Shot Secret will not hurt anything and with their money guarentee, why not try???
I had that problem with mine at 95,000 miles. I got the hot shot oil additive and the fuel treatment from them. I added the whole bottle on the next oil change plus the fuel treatment. After about 1,500 miles, the issue was gone. I changed the oil at 5,000 miles and never had another issue. I have about 103K on it now.

Interesting... so it took about 1,500 miles for you (in your truck of course) to notice a difference. I was curious, as I now have 450 miles since adding my Hot Shot Secret to my fresh oil change and was wondering if and when I may notice a difference?
Of course, I am looking for miracles and want it to happen sooner rather than later... but I guess I need some patience.
I do a lot of highway driving (empty, no trailer) and at the time when I added my Hot Shot, I was averaging about 250/day in the summer. So the truck was getting good and hot.
ok I changed the oil 12qt Amsoil 5w40 CJ-4 https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/deo.aspx
2qt of Hot Shots was 1/2 way up xxxx section on dipstick.
new filter. Ractor
NOW TRUCK RUNS LIKE CRAP. dosnt buck as hard as befor but when ever i give it fuel it shutters. untill i let off. still get P0281 code.
new oil made it run worce. No smoke
Give it a thousand miles or so to work. It's not instantaneous, especially if you're having "serious" injector issues. It may take a minute to flush out that amsoil--LOL.
