Good Point. I viewed it as $92 an hour labor and I was unsure of the labor hours for all the work. I thought the parts came to about $600. It is a 4x4. I thought the labor hours came to about 5.
Thanks

What you paid for parts might have been $600, but just a quick browse of your list tells me I could find them online for under $400. Mechanics almost always have a mark-up on parts. These days you can order them online for what the mechanic pays.
That is all quite easy work, one day in the driveway and a trip to the alignment shop and you are done.
I have paid a LOT more for simple service ($400 Porsche oil changes) but when your budget changes so do your priorities. To me that $800 is a couple more needed projects paid for and lots of extra $$ for riding the snowmobile.
If it is worth it to you not to have to mess with it, and you thought it was a bargain, that is all that really matters.
Less than $400 in parts...I can not imagine paying someone $800 for that.
Are you serious? Some people pay that much just to have the spark plugs changed. I think it was an awesome price for parts and labor, considering all that was changed.
Upon further investigation, I checked Napa for the prices and then I found out there were some special tools needed, various pullers. ( The truck is rusty) The whole thing out the door was $1150. The Ford dealer would have charged me about $1900.
I don't have the tools nor the time so I am very happy.

That is the point exactly. I can't imagine paying labor for simple projects. It must just be me, the rest of you guys must have $$$$.

Most everyone here is trying to do things on their own to save a buck, but that's besides the point. The question was if it was a fair price for parts, labor, and the alignment, and it was.
