Overhead Trip Computer Module Problems
My overhead trip computer has been going on and off for some time now. It's at the point it doesn't come on at all anymore now unless I hit a couple good times it will come on and then slowly dim back out. When I turn the truck off and turn it back on it doesn't come on at all unless I hit it again.
Has anyone else had this problem with a 99 F250 SD Lariat Edition?

I have not had a problem with mine yet but there have been plenty of people who have. I don't have the link on me and my connectivity here at work (I'm on duty on my ship) is around dial-up realiability and speed.
Do a search for a repair for the trip computer. There's lots of posts on this. IIRC it has to do with fixing some resistors inside the unit because the solder wears out and they lift from the board. Most guys report success in this repair which is a whole lot cheaper than $190 for a new one.
