Tire size help

I have a 2002 F150 5.4.
I bought it from my work bud.
He put these awful 20" super wide, low profile rims/tires on it.
A guy is offering me a set of 30x10.5xR15 with 90% new condition tires for $300. All-terrain. A little more tread than I was after.
I really am looking for a stock set, but the price might be right.
Not too sure what the numbers mean in relation to the truck.
The wheels on now rub on a sharp turn and the tire drag kills the MPG real bad.
Is this tire an appropriate size for the truck?
Thank for the help.

No it won't work. You need at least 16" rims to clear you calipers so just with the info provided I can already tell you it won't work. Those 15" rims will contact the caliper.

Whatever you get will also have to be in a 5x135 lug nut pattern. There were a few different tire size options for the 97-04H F150's, so easiest way to find what came stock is to check sticker on the door jamb.

What would be the proper offset for 16x9 wheels?

Some pics would be nice.

Buy the tires and turn right around and sell them for a good bit more. Just my opinion.

For the size I can say that anything less than a 30 inch diameter tire will fit a dead stock truck in tire sizes that comes to (I'm getting these numbers from the Miata Tire size calculator based on what you said.)
Original factory tire size 235/70R16
235/55R20
245/55R20
255/50R20
265/50R20

I can't say for sure if anything wider than 265 will fit from what I have heard 285 is widest you can run without rubbing with stock suspension but I have not been able to confirm that.

I hope this helps I also offer this as a good source to figure out all the tricky details of modern tire tech.

I'm running 285/75/16 on mine with no rubbing issues at all.

285's on a 4wd-- 265's on a 2wd.

Stock size was probably 265/70/17 unless it is a 2wd.
